Caju’s producer, Elmiro is an established politician in Brazil and was previously the mayor of Patos de Minas, where Fazenda Santiago is located. The rich volcanic soil in the region, coupled with Elmiro’s goal of focusing on quality over volume since he invested in coffee production, has seen him produce some brilliant lots in recent years. In 2019, Nascimento was among the top three winners of the 28th Ernesto Illy Award for Sustainable Quality of Espresso Coffee in Brazil. Not only did this act as a marker of the coffee quality produced at Fazenda Santiago, but also as a marker for the wider progress being made in the region. As one of the pioneers in promoting the quality of Alto Paranaíba in Cerrado, Elmiro dedicated this victory to the collective effort of the region.
Grindsmith’s first single origin Brazil, Caju translates as 'cashew tree'. If you are looking for a nutty, sweet and chocolatey all rounder, look no further. Caju is the one.
